CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY

At Exide Industries Limited, we are committed to total customer satisfaction and take great pride in our manufactured products. We warrant that the product is free from all material and workmanship defects affecting its normal use and is in conformity with the relevant specifications.

The product's warranty will be valid from Date of Sale, subject to the conditions mentioned herein.

01.The Exide 6EL range of 12 Volts Tubular batteries carry a warranty for a period of 48 (Forty-Eight) months from the Date of Sale or 54 (Fifty-Four) months from the Date of Manufacture, whichever is earlier. The term of warranty of battery shall be valid as per Table 1 below.

02.The Exide 6EL - L range of 12 Volts Tubular batteries carry a warranty for a period of 36 (Thirty-Six) months from the Date of Sale or 42 (Forty-Two) months from the Date of Manufacture, whichever is earlier. The term of warranty of battery shall be valid as per Table 1 below.

03.Exide 6EL Plus Batteries are warranted against all defects & workmanship. Liability under this warranty is limited to making good of defects arising solely from the use of faulty material or workmanship during manufacture & developing under proper use. Company is not responsible for direct, special, incidental, or consequential damages.

04.In the event of any problem with battery, customer can login service complaint with Exide Customer Care Centre and obtain complaint reference number for future communication and tracking status of the complaint.

05.Battery should be returned unopened & complete with electrolyte, freight paid to the dealer from whom it has been purchased.

06.The right to judge/determine whether a battery needs rectification or free replacement lies with us/the Company. Also, in case of Replacement, the Company reserves the right to

a. Give new battery or rectified battery.
b. Provide another model of the same capacity as settlement of the warranty, in the event of any battery model being phase out.

07.Defective Battery arising out of free replacement becomes the property of the Company & no scrap rebate will be given for the battery.

08.In case of warranty replacement, warranty period of replaced battery will still be considered from the date of sale or manufacturing of the first sold battery as defined in point no. 1 above i.e., warranty replacement will not alter warranty on the original sale. Consequently, the balance warranty period and/or the formal revalidation of the same will be suitably discharged by the company and/or will be physically marked on the replaced battery.

09.Company is not responsible for the additional warranty period given by channel partners/ intermediaries over and above the standard warranty period as stated above in point no.1.

10.The warranty is valid only for the claim arising out of the "first end user sale" by the company or its authorized channel partners or the OEMs. This warranty will cease if the battery is transferred by way of sale or any other means to any other third party(ies).

11.Liabilities under this warranty shall cease if the battery is:

a. Used for application other than what is specified in the installation and operating manual or product catalogues.
b. Operating under conditions that violate the recommended practices and/or guidelines and/or specifications mentioned in the installation and operations manual like exposure to sunlight or rain etc.
c. Physically damaged/Wilfully abused.
d. Out of Warranty.
e. Used for application other than online UPS.
f. Given on rental basis.
g. Showing any evidence or proof of not being in charged state throughout its life or is operating in conditions not conducive to fully charge battery at any point of time.

12.The warranty is void and will cease to exist when damages are caused due to:

a. Faulty charging systems, improper handling, improper charging, servicing by unauthorized personnel, destruction by fire/natural calamities and/or theft/ pilferage.
b. Any attempt noticed as indicative of tampering (including but not limited to physical scratch marks and/or deformities and/or damages etc) with safety valves/protection cover.
c. Battery found to be under sized or used in a manner to be unsafe.
d. Improper cable sizing, improper lugging, loose connections, less than 10% Charging current etc

13.Warranty does not cover for:

a. Normal wear & tear of the product or its parts due to usage.
b. Recharging of battery & shall be charged as extra.
c. Any tax, duty, other statutory levy which becomes leviable on the battery under repair or replacement & the same shall be borne by the customer.

14.As per principle & technology of lead acid battery the backup duration will gradually decrease with every year of usage. The rate of decrease depends on various factors, like frequency of charge/discharge, depth of discharge etc. We strongly recommend the usage of ageing factor while doing battery sizing to ensure designed back up is available from the battery till end of life of the battery and in case ageing factor is not accounted, company will not be responsible for decrease in back up time as battery ages.

15.In case of warranty claim, Invoice/Bill in original in untampered condition must be produced, without which the claim will not be entertained. Adjudication and settlement of claim will take a couple of days as the battery has to be tested for the reported failure. Customers are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to these conditions at the time of purchase. All disputes or differences arising out of use of battery shall have exclusive jurisdiction at the courts of Kolkata.

16.We recommend all End Customers to register their install base in our portal to get paperless/digital warranty settlement and other value-added benefits.

17.The warranty is applicable only in India.

Statutory Notice

In accordance with the Government of India, Ministry of Environment and Forests' notification on Batteries (Management & Handling) Rules, 2001, it is the responsibility of every consumer to ensure that used Lead- Acid Batteries are not disposed of in any manner other than returning to Dealer for recycling of hazardous lead content. Please contact your Dealer for trade-in purpose.

Note: Responsibilities of consumer or bulk customer

It shall be the responsibility of the consumer to ensure that used batteries are not disposed of in any manner other than depositing with the dealer, manufacturer, importer, assembler, registered recycler, re-conditioner or at the designated collection centres.

HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: Risk of fire explosion. Do not disassemble or incinerate.

01.We recommend charging the battery at an ambient temperature of 5° - 35°C to prevent any adverse effect on its effective life.

02.The battery should never be left in discharged condition, otherwise the capacity to hold the charge may not be recovered. Immediate recharging recommended.

03.The battery should be secured against excessive impact or vibration. We recommend installation of the battery at the lowest level of the equipment and farthest from the heat source.

04.New and old batteries should never be used in series. Batteries of different capacities make and performances should never be used in the same bank. We do not recommend more than 3 parallel strings whatsoever.

05.Discover the cause and replace any defective batteries if abnormalities noticed on voltage, heat, electrolyte, leakage, r physical deformities.

06.No attempts to be made to reverse charge the battery. While using a long-stored battery, supplementary charging is recommended.

07.We recommend transporting the battery in the upright position. Never bend the terminals nor solder directly. Always use the appropriate connectors.

08.Storage of new battery beyond 3 months is not recommended and freshening charge must be given before use.
